Overview

TCS GovCon, a veteran-owned defense contractor, is seeking a disciplined, detail-oriented professional to manage core business operations. This position supports payroll, HR compliance, travel coordination, system administration, and federal contract deliverables. The ideal candidate is a technical, structured, and accountable team player who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Payroll, Timekeeping & Financial Administration
  • Administer payroll through ADP and Deltek, ensuring accurate reconciliation, benefits deductions, and timekeeping.
  • Maintain precise employee records for salary changes, PTO, and billing under federal contracts.
  • Coordinate with accounting to align timesheets and labor distribution for cost-plus government contracts.

HR Compliance & Employee Support
  • Maintain employee records, ensure compliance with labor laws, and administer benefits, PTO, FMLA, and injury reporting.
  • Act as point of contact for HR-related policy enforcement and onboarding procedures.

Safety, Security & Certifications
  • Partner with safety officers to ensure compliance with client and federal regulations.
  • Track clearances, certifications, and coordinate security renewals.
  • Document incidents and ensure proper escalation and resolution.

Travel & Expense Coordination
  • Process travel authorizations, bookings, and expense reconciliations in accordance with GSA, JTR, and company policy.
  • Maintain records of funding sources, approvals, and trip documentation.

Operational Reporting & Systems Oversight
  • Compile and submit reports (MSRs, data calls, audit documents) to clients and internal leadership.
  • Serve as an internal systems resource for process optimization, integration, and compliance documentation.
  • Participate in cross-functional coordination to improve data accuracy and efficiency.

 

Qualifications

Required:
  • Education in Business, HR, Accounting, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in HR operations, business administration, or payroll within a federal contracting environment
  • Experience in Deltek Costpoint, Concur and ADP Workforce Now
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, DCAA/FAR, GSA travel policies, and employee file compliance
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation, follow-through, and system organization

Preferred:
  • Knowledge of government contracting processes, contracts and compliance
  • Experience with government audits or contract compliance reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, HR, Accounting, or a related field
  • Experience in a similar role with a small defense contractor.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and defense contract audit agency (DCAA) requirements.
